Richard Quick
Quick was a great Texas age group, high school and collegiate swimmer, as well as a successful coach at every level. He coached Memorial High School to six straight state titles, mentored thousands as head coach of the Dad’s Club, and started the SMU women’s team. He was head coach at Iowa State, Auburn, Texas and Stanford, winning 12 NCAA team titles, including five straight with the Longhorns. Appointed to six U.S. Olympic teams, Quick's coaching career touched many lives; he passed in June 2009 after a fight against inoperable brain cancer.
